Description of Phalotris sansebastiani

Jansen & Köhler (2008) described a new species of the Xendontine genus Phalotris from the Departamento de Santa Cruz, in the eastern lowlands of Bolivia. The species is differentiated from other species of the same genus through its head pattern and aspects of body pattern and scalation. Although usually inoffensive, at least one member of this genus, P. lemniscatus, has inflicted a life-threatening bite on a herpetologist (Lema, 1978)
