The following quotes are taken from:- "Cyndi Lauper says that despite
what you might have heard, her career is not dead" By Jane Wollman Rusoff.
Quote1
She sometimes tosses and turns, especially when she's away from David.
("Then I usually fall asleep watching an old movie. I've been watching
them since I was eight, a lot of Bette Davis. I just loved the women in
those really funny clothes. I think I was born out of an old movie.")
Quote2
She blames an acting job--in the unreleased film Off and Running--for
her worst haircut. ("They told me I was gonna look like Louise Brooks
or Sophia Loren. I looked like Marco Polo.")
Quote3
She lives in Connecticut and Manhattan with a dog, three cats, and her
husband of three years, actor David Thornton. ("He tells me I'm a tough
guy, like Karl Malden in On the Waterfront.")
Quote4
Cyndi Lauper: First, i get into bed. Then I rent a movie, preferably Rebecca,
Wuthering heights, or Henry V. Go make some hot tea, with lemon honey,
and glycerin-not too much glycerin, or else you'll have a real problem.
follow that with some vitamin C (very important) and some Saint-John's-Wort
Quotes taken from "Instyle magazine" May 1998
Comment:I'm not sure how Cyndi does all that having
first got into bed?:)
Movies mentioning Cyndi
The movie called "There's something about Mary" which stars Matt Dillon
& Cameron Diaz mentions Cyndi in a scene where a dork is telling his mates
that Cameron Diaz's character has asked him to the prom. His mate obviously
doesn't believe him and says something like
"Yeah right, and I'm going with Cyndi Lauper!
Favorite Movie Quotes
Ian Smith (Western Australia) has quite a number of favorite Cyndi
quotes. Here are a few of them
SYLVIA:"What's Your problem, aside from your face?"
NICK:"Excuse me,to Whom are you speaking to?"
SYLVIA:"To You'mm"
Also from 'Vibes':
SYLVIA:"I don't want to sound callous but it's almost happy hour"This
was when Harry wished to start the search for his imaginary son.
AND THIS ONE:
SYLVIA:"My husband the count used to stage coops (Coups) all the time.....Until
they shot him!"
XxxxCUBBYxxxx@aol.com likes this one from Vibes:
"Oh Yeah....your gonna ask me to do something really weird"
Barry Scott also loves Vibes:
Where she's talking to the Doctor Wiener.
Dr : Thank you Miss pickel (dill?) Sylvia: That's pic-kell, Dr. Whinny.
Dr.: That's Wiener Sylvia: Sorrrry!
Bob Sullivan loves this one from 'Off and Running':
JACK:"I just want you to know that you don't have to have sex with me"
Cyd:"What never? Gee you're strict"
Good one Bob.
My own personal favorites all come from 'Vibes'
Peter Falk's character come out with some great ones, such
as: HARRY:(Addressing the fearsome nurse)" Hey I liked your
last movie, what was that - Conan the nurse?"
Sylvia has some great lines, like the one when she's discussing astral
projection. She says she would go to the movies when she was out of her
body and asks Nick, "You know how hard it is to buy goobers when your
out of your body?"
I also like the bit where she and nick discuss her dress:
Sylvia: "You like?"
Nick: "Parts of me are already applauding!"
