Marc.

Cyndi has participated a number of times in on-line chats. The following odd facts were taken from such an event.

Q:Did the name of Blue Angel have anything to do with the Dietrich film?
A:Yes and also the Roy Orbison song "Blue Angel". Of course, being raised Catholic Italian, anything that had to do with the angels.... you couldn't go wrong!

I liked the whole image of it, and the movie was interesting, the kind of song Roy Orbison sang was interesting, so that's where we got the name.

Q:I loved you on 'Mad about you' and in 'Life with Mikey'. How do you like acting as well as singing.

A:There are moments in acting that are different than singing because in singing the euphoria, for me, is constant. It's because of the sound and the rhythm. You kind of dance yourself into a state. In acting you go from moment to moment. When it's creative you can become something else. It's what I believe is true, like a kid. In make-believe life it is what I feel

Paul Rieser was great to work with. Nathan Lane tickled me to pieces. I used to tell him that I was his long lost cousin, because there is a section of my family whose last name is Lane. I always tease him.

The mad about you stuff was great fun. It was also the best acting experiences I've ever had. I learned an enormous amount from them. Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt are great, and the rest of the cast are amazing. The writers, the director. When you work with people like that, you can't help but be good. And I would do anything for them.

Paul used to say that the show was a little miracle each week.

The following is taken from an interview by Michelle, a member of the Shebop mailing list done in 1995.
Michelle: Do you have any movie scripts or movie offers you're interested in?
Cyndi: There's one interesting thing but I can't really talk about it till it actually happens that I might do with a friend, Nathan Lane, who's a really wonderful actor. I did 'Life with Mikey' with him. So you know I was looking at that. And the other things I do I just you know- Off and on I go into these auditions. I do it because it teaches me about performance and I love when a director directs you because you're always thinking and I always learn in the end to always trust my initial feeling. Because sometimes I'm right about that.

Michelle: Is there anything special that stands out in your mind about working with Michael J. Fox?
Cyndi:Um it was just more of a fun movie. I don't think it was just Michael J.Fox it was everyone on that project and he was really terrific. James Lapine is a wonderful director who I also met on that project, in fact he lent me his daughter. She was in Sally's pigeons..
